Curious about people
Deep conversations have drawn me in since I was a child: I listened to exciting stories with curiosity, and from every story I learned something about people, and about myself along the way. Since my children were born, self-knowledge and self-development have occupied me more and more vividly: how I can change so as to become the parent and the person I would like to be — flexible, calm, decisive, while keeping my playfulness and my optimism.
From healthcare to coaching
My professional road started in healthcare, then I spent several years in the pharmaceutical industry, and later worked as a researcher in the health sciences. In between I was at home with my children for several years. Health is not only a profession to me but a passion: I have built sport and healthy eating into my life as an organic part of it. Over those years it became ever clearer to me that supporting the health of individual people matters more to me than working on the health of society. That is how I found coaching.
Changes and replannings
My life is full of changes and replanning: over the past 18 years I have built my life in three countries. As the moves came and my children were born, I too had to look for new goals and a new career. That took a great deal of self-knowledge and flexibility, so that I could adapt to the changes, but in a way that was good and interesting for me too, and so that I could bear it when things don't turn out the way we would like. Self-knowledge and open, assertive communication helped a lot with that: being able to say what I need, and to hear what the other person needs.
What I brought with me from healthcare
My training and work experience in healthcare give me a solid basis for answering the whys and hows of a healthy lifestyle. I have met the challenges that come with health myself and within my family. Those are what really taught me how important the health and freshness of body and mind are.
More kindly, looking forward
I develop my self-knowledge and my flexibility with undiminished enthusiasm; part of that is that I have learned Dr Gábor Máté's method and solution-focused work as well. All of this has helped me become more confident, and treat myself and others more kindly and with respect. And instead of dissecting the past, to pay attention to where I want to go, and to what I already do towards it, even without noticing. That steady, future-facing focus is what I bring to our work together.
